  • GENERAL LABOURER – NOW HIRING

    Motivated, industrious, full time (seasonal) General Labourers are one of the most important team members on the construction site, assisting in every aspect of the build. 

    Responsibilities include lifting and moving materials, digging and refilling holes, assisting with pipe installation and any other duties assigned by supervisors to support your team members. Day-to-day jobs will rarely be the same, so applicants must be prepared to accomplish any and all tasks necessary to get the job done.

    Applicants must be able to take direction and follow guidelines, while still thinking for themselves. Critical thinking and strong inferencing skills are needed to look ahead of your task to anticipate the job site needs. Responsibilities are constantly changing, so you will need to be self-motivated, flexible, and adaptable; able to switch gears at a moment’s notice. 

    More than anything, Mac Taylor is looking for a team player. Our crews work at a fast pace, which means all team members need to work hard while communicating clearly and supporting each other through every endeavour.

  • ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN – NO POSITIONS AVAILABLE

    Mac Taylor employees specialize in problem solving and teamwork, so it is essential that all applicants are team players with excellent communication skills. 

    Engineering Technicians must be prepared to use their mathematical and critical-thinking skills in:

    • assisting in design selection of new/replacement on-site septic systems
    • navigating the GIS mapping 
    • data collection
    • record administration
    • and some hands-on field work

    Consideration will also be given to students enrolled in a post-secondary program with at least one year of studies completed, and have plans to return and complete the program.  This position provides hands-on experience in the Onsite Sewage System Industry from project beginning through to completion.

    You must be prepared to work in various weather conditions and willing to assist with general labour tasks as needed such as; set and check grade with a laser level and assist with pipe installation. Displaying respect and courtesy at all times is a must, whether it be coworkers, customers, inspectors or any other people encountered on the job. 

    Applicants must be motivated self-starters with strong inferencing skills who can handle assigned tasks without constant supervision or oversight. 

    An understanding of drainage and site plans is an asset.  

    Strong English, Mathematics and critical thinking skills are an absolute must.

  • AZ TRUCK DRIVER – NO POSITIONS AVAILABLE

    Drivers are responsible for timely, professional delivery of equipment and material to and from the job site. They must do proper vehicle operation circle checks, truck and equipment maintenance, accurate record keeping, loading and tying down equipment, and any other tasks assigned.   

    At Mac Taylor, being a team player is the most important aspect of any job. Our drivers are expected to cooperate with construction supervisors and team members to complete tasks together, regardless of what duties are assigned. Interested applicants must be prepared to use their critical thinking, communication, math and inferencing skills every day.  

    All Mac Taylor drivers are expected to behave safely, responsibly, and obey the law at all times. A familiarity with our service area is a benefit, but not a requirement. 

    Candidates must be able to operate front-end loader and other construction equipment, including floating of equipment to various job sites.

    Qualifications Include:

    • A valid AZ truck license, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
    • Being physically fit and able to perform manual labour.
    • Ability to follow safe working procedures.

  • HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR – NO POSITIONS AVAILABLE

    Heavy Equipment Operator must be comfortable working in a team environment and ideally have a minimum of 3-years’ experience. 

    You will be required to safely operate equipment such as excavators, backhoes, skid steers, front end loaders and bulldozers, while assisting our team in every aspect of residential site work and sewage system installation. 

    Other tasks include taking measurements, making calculations, using your critical thinking skills, documenting information, maintaining equipment in a clean and tidy condition, maintain daily operators log and report any deficiencies as required by Company policy. You will assist co-workers in a variety of functions including loading and unloading of trucks, installing equipment attachments, trailer hook ups etc. 

    The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, industrious individual who can think for themselves and make wise choices while able to take direction and follow guidelines. Above average Mathematics and English language skills (written and oral) are needed to perform all tasks effectively. 

    Applicants will be required to take WHMIS training and any other training courses deemed necessary. 

    If you’re looking for a job where you only handle one repeated task, this is not the role for you.

    Qualifications Include: 

    • Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario Driver’s License.
    • Preference will be given to those with their Heavy Equipment Operator Trade Certification.
    • Secondary School Diploma, vocational or technical training would be an asset.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
    • With the appropriate safety precautions, must be able to tolerate dusty, noisy, and odorous conditions. 
    • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
